    Mental Health Technician Trainee/I/II Salary $2,577.00 - $3,998.00 Monthly Location Union County, IL Job Type Full-Time Department Human Services Job Number 10-80-18-147 / 109193 Closing 1/11/2019 4:30 PM Central Description of Duties/Essential Functions MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN TRAINEE: Under immediate supervision, receives training and performs beginning level duties in the care and treatment of individuals who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled at Choate Mental Health Center and Developmental Center. MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN I: Under immediate supervision, performs beginning level duties on a unit for the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of the mentally ill; assists in providing physical care, developing self help skills and supervision of skills of daily living. MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN II: Under direct supervision, performs duties associated with the direct care and treatment designed to help individuals within assigned group areas to achieve greater mental, physical, and social development. Ensures compliance to Facility philosophy, programs, procedures, and practices. Minimum Requirements MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN TRAINEE: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires ability to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program. Requires ability to provide the sincere interest necessary to work effectively with individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Requires ability to understand and effectively carry out written and oral instructions. Requires ability to write clear and concise statements of individual care, treatment, and performance in accordance with approved guidelines. Requires moderate to heavy physical effort to lift patients. MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN I: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires successful completion of a comprehensive training program at the Mental Health Technician Trainee level. Requires skill and ability to provide basic care to individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Requires moderate to heavy physical effort to lift patients. MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN II: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires successful completion of an approved training program and six months experience in or applicable to the care, treatment or habilitation of persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Requires skill and ability to provide required services, procedures, and techniques geared toward treatment, development and habilitation. Requires moderate to heavy physical effort to lift patients.
