    As a member of our Transportation Advocacy Team, you'll be responsible for receiving inbound calls and helping members schedule non-emergency medical transportation. These trips include things like Dialysis and Chemotherapy - and are incredibly important for our members' health and wellbeing Oftentimes requiring an additional measure of patience and kindness to help someone through what might be a difficult situation, and to get them to the right place at the right time. You will be dealing with a wide variety of member populations, each requiring the very best you have to offer.     This TRANSPORTATION ADVOCATE position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday. Our Transportation Advocates need to be flexible, with starting times anywhere from 8:00 am to 9:30 am local time. Shifts will be assigned initially to successful team members and then will change quarterly, based on a shift bid. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 2950 Express Drive South, 2nd Floor, Islandia, New York.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responds to incoming calls from members and assists them with scheduling non-emergency medical transportation (i.e. doctor's appointments, dialysis, physical therapy, radiology, etc.) with their preferred provider at their preferred location
    • Ensures communication is completed in a timely manner with members/patients, home health aides, physicians and medical facilities
    • Supports the member and others by answering their questions and concerns to include cancelling or rescheduling appointments based on members' requests
    • Observes at all times the required HIPAA standards to protect private information
    • Enters required documentation into the computer system, including the scheduling arranged and what communication was provided
    • Meets performance goals established for the position in the areas of: efficiency, call quality, customer satisfaction, call resolution and attendance

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • An education level of at least a high school diploma or GED
    • 3+ years of experience in any related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
    • Demonstrates ability to use computer and Windows PC applications, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills and the ability to learn new computer programs

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Proficiency in English and Spanish
    • Prior health care experience
    • Demonstrated expertise with First Call Resolution, Efficiency, Quality and Customer Satisfaction
    • Demonstrates ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport, and confidently respond to customers in a compassionate manner
    • Experience in provider tools, benefit interpretation, detailed benefits/claim support and complex issue management to interpret various situations and proactively address complex issues
    • Proficient problem solving approach to quickly assess current state, and formulate recommendations
    • Flexibility to customize approach to meet all types of provider communication styles and personalities

    • Demonstrate personal resilience
