Our program provides specialized and highly skilled physical rehabilitation services to patients with complex needs. Rehabilitation begins early in the patient's recovery. A dedicated rehabilitation team consists of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and rehab nurses. Each patient's rehabilitation plan is individualized to help patients and their families achieve the best possible outcome and quality of life. The 41-bed unit is one of Middle Tennessee's largest premier inpatient facilities featuring large, private rooms. Our team of board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians works with patients and their families every step of the way to get patients back to the quality of life they deserve. Our Rehabilitation Program is designed to help people overcome the effects of a stroke or other debilitating injury or illness. The program combines physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, rehab nursing and neuro-psychology services under the direction of a physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation physician). Education, disease management, diet, home set-up, social and emotional needs and home exercise programs are provided to patients and their families to help them manage their care and perform acts of daily living at home. Medicare and most private insurance plans cover some or all of prescribed rehabilitation services. TriStar Skyline Medical Center is currently looking for a Speech Language Pathologist. Shifts: Full-Time, Days (Rotating Weekends) Department: Rehab Services POSITION SUMMARY: Creates an environment and culture that enables Rehabilitation Services to fulfill the mission of Tri Star Skyline Medical Center (SLMC) and meet or exceed its goals. Provides input into strategic development initiatives and is responsible for the implementation of the inpatient rehabilitation strategic plan. Responsible for the financial viability of Rehabilitation Services, coordinating the submittal of accurate and timely billing and clinical information. Develops and strives for achievement of financial objectives, including the implementation of budgetary guidelines. Supports the Rehab Director in managing the resources of Inpatient Rehabilitation Services in an ethical, viable manner. Provides input for the negotiation of rehabilitation specific rates in negotiated payment structures/contracts. In collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical staff, assures the development of quality inpatient rehabilitation programming to meet market needs. Collaborates effectively with all members of the rehabilitation team within the inpatient rehabilitation unit. Works with the Rehab Director to ensure the supply of appropriate resources to support the programs, services, organizational structure and staffing levels necessary for quality rehabilitation services. Coordinates as necessary with rehabilitation counterparts. Implements operations and processes to support, facilitate, and maintain uniform performance of inpatient care including documentation. Provides a safe, secure, and infection/hazard-free environment. Supports the Rehab Director in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the quality management plan for inpatient rehabilitation services. The Speech Therapist supports interdepartmental performance-improvement/customer satisfaction activities. Demonstrates high ethical standards in customer service through all interactions with the patients, families, coworkers, staff, other hospital departments, physicians, community and all others. Creates a high quality, professional clinical environment to facilitate the necessary recruitment of appropriate numbers of qualified staff. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree or higher in Speech Therapy. Working towards attaining Tennessee License within 1 year of employment. Direct inpatient rehab experience; one year or more, involving extensive knowledge of rehab/criteria Excellent interpersonal skills/communication skills. Excellent organization/time management skills. Excellent customer service skills; professional appearance. Experience in providing educational programs and public speaking relating to Marketing responsibilities. BLS Certificate of Clinical Competency through American Speech and Hearing Association.
