The VAD Transplant Coordinator manifests a high level of expertise in the assessment, coordination and care of the complex patients, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems; prevention of illness and injury; maintenance of wellness; and provision of comfort. The VAD Transplant Coordinator demonstrates strong clinical experiences in patient care.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HC P Certification or equivalent Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in transplant, critical care or medical-surgical nursing Two (2) years of progressive leadership experience Demonstrated clinical expertise for population served with a minimum of one (1) year in specialty area Experience PREFERRED: Five (5) years of clinical experience in the transplant field Academic Healthcare experience Advanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership experience Education/training REQUIRED: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Education/training PREFERRED: Masters Degree in Nursing Certification in Transplantation or Heart Failure or Mechanical Circulatory Support Independent action(s) required: All day-to-day operations of the role are handled independently with minimal assistance. Advice and guidance are sought from the Manager or Director on an as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on activity outside the unit. Actions that are taken without prior approval include daily operational functions and leadership of staff.
