Program Manager Hours: 37.5 hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Monday-Friday
At-Will Employment You are free to terminate your employment with Womens

Womens Center-YFS has the right to terminate your employment or the
employment of others at any time, with or without a reason. Although
Womens Center-YFS may choose to terminate employment for cause, cause is
not required. This is called at-will employment. Most employees at
Womens Center-YFS are funded by a variety of grants, governmental
programs and endowment sources. Continued employment is contingent upon
continued receipt of those funds. Description: Works closely with
Transition Aged Youth (TAY) Manager and provides a strengths-based
mentoring approach to youth and young adults with emotional and
behavioral difficulties (EBD). Using the evidence-supported Transition
to Independence Process, Transition Specialists will work with youth to
facilitate movement towards greater self-sufficiency and successful
achievement of their goals. Also assists in preparing and presenting
various presentations, participation in awareness month activities,
participation in community events, meetings or conferences and
preparation of monthly reports as required. Job Qualifications: * Must
support Womens Center-YFS mission and philosophy; be dedicated to
eliminating sexual assault, domestic violence, youth homelessness, human
trafficking and be committed to the Center's Guiding Principles. These
principles are based on the fundamental values of both feminism and the
social work profession, including the worth, dignity, and uniqueness of
all persons as well as their rights and opportunities. The nature of the
work of Womens Center-YFS fosters conditions that promote these values.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study or the equivalent in
experience. * Minimum two years experience working with at-risk youth or
young adults and will clearly demonstrate ability to relate with the
youth, either through own life experience, or through a clear
understanding and empathic view of the challenges todays youth face.
Familiarity with human-trafficking issues preferred. * Must be familiar
with Community Resources in San Joaquin County. * Excellent
communication skills, both written and oral. * Computer skills required
- Understand data entry, report preparation, filing methods and records
management techniques. * Must be able to travel as necessary, attend
meetings, trainings and take minutes. * Skilled in organizing projects
and workload. * Ability to write progress notes * Ability to deal with
multiple, competing demands. * Ability to communicate ideas clearly and
persuasively. * Ability to work effectively with individuals from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. * Ability to work independently. *
Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients. * Sensitivity
to issues concerning survivors of sexual assault , domestic violence,
and human trafficking, i.e., self-esteem, assertiveness, empowerment,
violence prevention and victims rights. * Awareness of and sensitivity
to the cultures represented in San Joaquin County. * Good interpersonal
skills, ability to relate well with persons from a variety socioeconomic
and cultural groups. * Ability to lift supplies up to 25 lbs. to waist
height. * Must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of
stairs throughout the course of a normal workday. * Fingerprint
clearance required. * Reliable transportation, valid California Drivers
License and proof of insurance. * Carry out other duties as assigned by
the Director/Manager. Essential Functions: * Provide mentoring and
supportive services to youth and young adults (ages 16-25) to facilitate
their movement towards greater self-sufficiency and successful
achievement of their goals. * Works closely with Transition Aged Youth
(TAY) Manager as well as other Transition Specialists/Peer Associates. *
Assist young people in planning and achieving goals across all five
transition domains: employment and career, education, living situation,
personal effectiveness and wellbeing, and community-life functioning. *
Knowledge of mandated reporting requirements and make internal referrals
as necessary. * Provide coaching, teach skills and guide youth in social
problem solving in various community settings. * Drive agency van and
transport youth to approved activities and appointments. * Must agree
with and support agency philosophy. * Help prepare and facilitate
presentations to various audiences throughout San Joaquin County. *
Attend and participate in community events, meetings and conferences as
requested. * Attend training, workshops and meetings that may include
out-of-town travel. * Responsible for maintaining up-to-date client
documentation and files as well as program data. * Be supportive of all
Womens Center-YFS programs. * Encourage positive agency environment in
all departments. * Demonstrate ability to establish effective working
relationships with community partners, administration and other staff to
accomplish goals and objectives of the project. * Regularly attend
management team meetings, staff meetings, In-Service trainings and other
meetings as assigned. * Must be reliable and consistent with attendance
and punctuality to work. * Represent Womens Center-YFS in a professional
manner. * Understand and follow all policies and procedures of Womens
Center-YFS. * Must have an attitude of friendliness and be able to
communicate with all levels within Womens Center-YFS. * Maintain good
working relationships with all Womens Center-YFS Staff and Volunteers. *
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Youth & Clinical
