The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist Specialist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to pediatric patients of El Paso Children’s Hospital through integrated drug distribution, clinical services, research and teaching.
Required Skills
- Knowledge and experience with UD, I.V. additives and therapeutics.
- Knowledge of law, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
Required Experience
WORK EXPERIENCE:
One-year Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) or four years equivalent experience in a pediatric acute care Hospital inpatient setting.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas.
- Preceptor competent within one year of hire, for existing employees within one year of signing job description
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy.
- 12 hours of ACPE approved continuing education annually,
- Maintain competency in unique aspects of drug therapy for pediatric patients.
