    Job Description

    The Maintenance Technician is part of Aspen Skiing Company’s Employee Housing team. This position is focused on providing tenants with timely repairs inside and outside of employee housing units.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Preparation and maintenance of employee housing units, including moving furniture
    • Performs carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, snow removal, painting, carpet installation, cleaning and all other routine facility maintenance and construction tasks
    • Proficient with all hand, power and pneumatic tools and the ability to use them safely, and must maintain all tools in a clean and orderly condition while maintaining a clear, uncluttered work area.
    • Maintains common areas of all buildings in a presentable manner, keeping all walkways, lobbies, laundry rooms, etc. clean
    • Responsible for lawn and landscape maintenance in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter, in addition to trash removal year round
    • Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Keeps commitments and reports to shifts on time; Completes tasks in a timely manner or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
    • General upkeep of facility equipment and basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of facility equipment and tools
    • Observes safety and security procedures, reporting all safety hazards and suspicious persons or activities to management and adhering to all safety standards set by the department and company along with local, city and state laws
    • Comply with all policies and procedures for the department, and Aspen Skiing Company.
    • Be familiar with fire and safety procedures. Assist in the event of an emergency and/or security event as directed by management.
    • Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
    • Will assist with other Facility Management and ASC functions as needed.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of facility equipment and tools.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Must have a valid, current, unrestricted Driver License
    • Must be able to operate and maintain an Aspen Skiing Company truck as necessary
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
    • General maintenance skills required
    • Background in building maintenance, construction or similar skilled trade is preferred

    Additional Information

    Supervision Given and Received
    Supervision given: This Position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Supervision received: Works under direct supervision of Facilities Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
    • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs individually or with assistance.
