Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee the beverage operation of our brand-new steakhouse. The ideal candidate will help shape the bar menu and culture while providing our guests with an exceptional experience in a modern, upscale environment. We’re looking for a person that brings a passion for fine wine, whiskey, and premium beverages, coupled with strong leadership and organizational skills.
As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bar operations, developing creative beverage programs, and maintaining strict inventory and quality controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and has a deep appreciation for the craft of mixology.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall Bar Operations Management: * Oversee the daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and an excellent guest experience. * Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety.
Team Leadership: * Lead, mentor, and train the bar staff to create a cohesive and efficient team focused on quality and consistency. Your team is expected to always function at the same standard. * Scheduling to ensure optimal coverage during service hours and catering events. * Help to create a culture the fosters a positive and professional work environment.
Beverage Program Development: * Develop and maintain a well-curated beverage menu featuring craft cocktails, fine wines, and premium whiskeys. * Work with the General Manager and Chef to curate experiences such as wine dinners, whiskey tastings, and private events. * Stay current on industry trends and introduce innovative offerings. * Conduct tastings and staff education sessions to enhance product knowledge.
Inventory and Cost Controls: * Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of beverages and food using FIFO.
* Implement effective cost-control measures and SOPs to meet financial goals. Knowledge and experience in inventory control and management, including proficiency in inventory management software (i.e., MarginEdge, MarketMan, or similar programs) is a plus.
Guest Relations: * Build strong relationships with patrons to encourage repeat business. * Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
