    Union Gospel Mission (UGM) has been serving Marion and Polk counties for more than 70 years. Our purpose is to help men, women, and children break free from homelessness through the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.

    With a strong emphasis on teamwork, the Community Engagement Department at Union Gospel Mission strives to create a Christ-centered spirit of philanthropy and connection within UGM. This is accomplished by fulfilling our supporters' passions and interests, resulting in improved facilities, strengthened programs, and increased services ultimately building the Lord's Kingdom.

    As the Fundraising Event Coordinator within the Community Engagement Department, you will report to the Donor Relations Manager, contributing to the development, engagement, and deepening of constituent relationships through UGM's fundraising events and donor relations program.

    UGM's supporters deserve our best effort, and this position's outcomes must meet high standards regarding the quality of work and relationships. This role will suit a well-organized, experienced event coordinator professional. This role requires the incumbent to collaborate with a creative and forward-thinking team, as well as work independently, while always striving for excellence.

    EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with event planning including program, fundraising strategy, décor, attendance, sponsor correspondence, and donor post-event follow-up for the following events:

      • Stop for the One – winter luncheon
    • RENEW – spring women's ministry luncheon

    • UGM PRO-AM Golf Tournament & Auction

    • One Table community event

    • Process and organize rental orders for event amenities

    • Develop event layouts and work with facilities to fulfill all UGM event needs

    • Assist with event communications to constituents such as event committee, volunteers, donors, community partners, and sponsors

      • Monitor event budgets to maximize and grow event ROI.
    • Assist with managing sponsor portfolio for the Community Engagement Department.

    • • Collaborate with your Community Engagement team to create the best possible fundraising events. Team members include the Marketing Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Donor Relations Director, and the Director of Community Engagement.

    • • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other department leaders and staff at the Mission

    DONOR RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

    **• Assist with the creation of mid-level/major donor email blasts and direct mail; conduct thank-you calls; invite renewed support from select donors and prospects particularly during the highest gift volume periods
    • Support the operation of recurring gift program
    • Assist with the coordination of major donor private events
    • Run queries and reports from Raiser's Edge, UGM's donor management software
    • Attend occasional networking events

    REQUIREMENTS

    **• Must possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian Walk as evidence of that love
    • Must have approximately two (2) years of experience in fundraising and event management/coordination
    • Must be willing to sign and adhere to the Union Gospel Mission of Salem Statement of Faith
    • Must have proficient interpersonal skills (maintain confidentiality; cooperative; excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative)
    • Must exhibit a willingness to attempt new ideas and approaches
    • Must be relational and able to build authentic relationships with co-workers across departments and constituents of all ages and backgrounds
    • Must be dependable – consistently on time, willing to work occasional weekends and holidays when required; follows instructions; responds to management direction; solicits feedback to improve personal performance.
