    Location: Bloomington, MN

    Pay: $20/hr

    Internship Dates: June 2nd - August 22nd (Opportunity to extend the internship as a PT role/work-study during the school year).

    *This is an internship opportunity. You must be enrolled full time in a University to be considered. Candidates not enrolled in a University will not be considered.

    This internship provides hands-on experience in key HR functions, including HRIS management, total rewards (compensation/benefits), compliance, and employee relations inside an enterprise operation. Responsibilities include analyzing time-off accruals, researching employment laws, assisting with compliance documentation, and supporting benefit enrollment audits. The role also involves maintaining employee records, generating HR reports, and contributing to onboarding and off boarding processes. Our client will assign parts of a project focusing on law application that are impacting our workplace.


    Ideal candidates will have an interest in developing business literacy in HR and understanding the practical application of employment laws within a corporate setting. This opportunity offers exposure to the strategic and operational aspects of HR, preparing interns for future careers in the field. This internship is not about employee engagement or event planning.

    Job Duties (Will Include but Not Be Limited To)

    • Participate and support projects involving HRIS management, total rewards, employee resources, and compliance & policy.
    • Evaluate time off allocations and cost with accrual policies to report on rollover balances, schedule utilization, and 2026 planning.
    • Conduct research on employment laws and HR best practices to support compliance efforts – specifically documentation and implementation of new MN Employee Sick and Safe Leave Policies.
    • Assist in preparing materials for compliance reviews as needed.
    • Review employee benefit elections and enrollments – audit and validate external and internal data feeds.
    • Assist in maintaining and updating employee records within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy.
    • Generate reports and analyze HR data related to turnover, engagement, and compliance.
    • Support onboarding and off-boarding processes by ensuring proper documentation is stored in the system.
    • Learn, assist, and consult in the new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
    • Support and assist in any coordinating activities for department leaders or projects.
    • Handle special projects as they come or as time allows

    Minimum Requirements

    • Currently enrolled at a university in MN. 
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
    • High degree of professionalism and integrity with the ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
    • A resourceful team player
    • Preferred Majors: HR Management, Business Administration or Management, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Economics, with a minor or sub-focus on Labor Relations, Finance or Accounting, and Law
