Responsibilities include supervision of professional Residential Mentor staff, facilities and operations management, educational and social programming, conduct management, and on-call emergency response. The Head of House provides direction and leadership for the Residential Mentor staff and student-athlete Residential Life Curriculum while promoting a safe, secure, and healthy environment for student-athlete and staff development. Reports to the Campus Life Evening Manager. Position Responsibilities Serve as a responsible, adult presence, providing guidance and support in the residence halls for staff and student-athletes. Lead development and administration of the Residential Life Curriculum. Assist with interviewing and selecting of Residential Mentor staff. Supervise, train, and evaluate Residential Mentor staff. Assist with the design, implementation, and facilitation of training programs for temporary/part-time/full time Campus Life staff. Oversee residential hall programming involving multicultural development, learning, character building, community development, and personal well-being. Participate and follow up on recreational, educational, and cultural programs for student-athletes. Prioritize and manage multiple projects, diligently track and meet deadlines that affect student and campus life Assist in the analysis and implementation of policies and procedures ensuring that the student-athlete code of conduct is being maintained. Operations Evaluate, oversee, and maintain the residential hall, including room checks, maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy living environment. Monitor students in dorms and throughout campus, including wake up and curfew times. Perform regular walkthroughs and inspections of the residence halls working with maintenance, accommodations, and other departments to coordinate and direct upkeep requests. Coordinate with safety and security staff to ensure the security of students and residence halls. Assist with housing process including check in/out, early arrivals and opening/closing of residence halls Attend and contribute to department meetings. Attend and contribute to general planning for Academy and summer camp programs. Keep track of student-athletes daily schedules Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes. Other duties as assigned. Communication Communicate and follow up on conduct expectations of all student-athletes. Communicate and enforce appropriate disciplinary actions for violations. Collaborate and communicate emergency response and crisis management plans for various situations including weather, lockdown, student illness, injury, etc. Collaborate with departments including sports, academics, health services for student-athletes development. Communicate openly and regularly with parents/guardians. Assist with orientation and acclimation of student-athletes to campus life. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Ability Bachelors degree in Education, Counseling, or related area. 1 year of experience supervising staff. 1 year of experience in residential life, summer camps, or secondary school. Must have a valid Florida Drivers License or the ability to obtain one. Must possess good judgment and sensitivity relating to students of various backgrounds. Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and with sensitivity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent guest service skills. Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects. Proficient with computer and web applications. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced organization. A superior work ethic. Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues. Preferred Skills Masters degree in Education, Counseling, or related area. Experience as collegiate athlete. Experience in education, sports or related area. Experience with overseeing 50+ residents. Experience in counseling, crisis response, and mediation. Experience in a high-pressure, academic/performance setting. First Aid and CPR Certification. Bilingual. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
