The Payroll / HR Office Administrator reports to the President of the company. This individual is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support. Must be proficient at performing administrative and office support activities. Processing and monitoring the payroll system. Ensure that all team members are paid in a timely and appropriate manner as specified by state and federal laws, rules and regulations. This position will also perform as an HR Administrator and will conduct daily HR activities, including but not limited to: recruitment & selection; benefits administration; compensation management; employee relations; policy interpretation; management consultations; worker's compensation claims; leave of absence processing; data entry; background screening and employment verifications. This position requires the ability to work autonomously; be highly proficient and self-motivated. Excellent customer service, multi-tasking and maintaining confidentiality are crucial in this role. Experience working in an office. Ability to communicate clearly and confidentially in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, with employees at various levels within the organization and with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to exercise judgment, take initiative, prioritize work, meet non-negotiable time frames, and pay attention to detail in a time-sensitive, high volume work environment. Ability to monitor reports and reconcile information. Basic mathematical skills. Ability to use e-mail, spreadsheets, databases, and work processing software. Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive): Process 3 payrolls weekly for two different companies Maintain HR New Hire onboarding platforms Maintain payroll reports by pay period, monthly, by company and quarterly by company Enter new or update data into payroll Provide administrative support to ensure effective and efficient office operations Maintain a high level of candidate care and administer the onboarding of new associates Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's Degree or its equivalency and a minimum of two years of human resources experience are preferred. Excellent communications, customer service, public relations, presentation, and organizational skills are required. Proven ability to take initiative and stay customer focused at all times
