GENERAL FUNCTION As part of the HR Operations Team, the HR Operations Specialist performs a variety of duties to support the HR and Payroll functions for associates in North America. Provides exceptional Customer Service and problem resolution while maintaining strict confidentiality of information at all times. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Independently interacts with associates at all levels within the organization. Frequent interaction with various departments internally (Benefits, Compensation, HRBP, Legal, Compliance, Store Operations, Accounting and IT) and with external vendors. * Engages in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal,and written) and is attuned to others through strong active listening skills. * Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries. * Follows and maintains knowledge of all payroll and Human Resources policies and procedures including a comprehensive understanding of various PTO, Sick and Holiday plans to ensure accuracy of accruals and payments. * Possesses an up-to-date understanding of current and upcoming tax legislation changes and laws affecting corporate compliance in the area of payroll taxes. * Adheres to applicable state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations. * Supports Manager and Associate self-service to ensure data integrity through ongoing audits. * Ensures all new hires and terminations are processed in all systems. * Supports continuous review of employee tax data information. Researches and corrects or adjust errors discovered. * Independently analyzes tax correspondence from outside jurisdictions and works with various systems as necessary to resolve them. * Supports brands by acting as the primary contact for escalated issues. * Resolves and corrects timecard errors in compliance with state regulations. * Researches errors and determines need for On Demand checks. * Addresses inquiries from internal employees, stakeholders or regulatory agencies regarding payroll tax issues. * Sets up standard reports to run automatically for distribution. * Creates Ad hoc reports as needed for legal, compliance, tax and other business partners.
