Check your email regularly for information regarding our employment process. text The primary responsibility of the Claims Representative I is to review, investigate and analyze all assigned third party property loss/damage claims received daily in Corporate Risk Management in an expeditious manner, and determine the extent of MGM Resorts International liability concerning the claims - applying technical knowledge, independent judgment, critical thinking and excellent guest service skills to effect fair and prompt resolution of claims. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International Operations policies, practices and procedures. * Daily claim review and accurate entry of required claim data into claims database system same day as receipt of assignment. * Communicate with claimant and any other involved persons within appropriate time frame to obtain any missing information not contained in claim. * Investigate and assess property damage and property loss claims, and review applicable documentation to substantiate value of reported loss. * Complete investigation within 30 days of assignment. * Maintain appropriate and sufficient reserves in recognition of potential financial exposure of claim, post accurate and timely claim payments in database system until claim is resolved. * Evaluate investigation results and make determination as to extent of companys liability, if any. * Provide clear, timely verbal and/or composed written communication to all relevant parties. * Negotiate and resolve claims in a fair and equitable manner, within designated authority level, in compliance with companys settlement practices, policies and procedures and conferring with management for any recommended settlement outside authority level. * Maintain organized claim files, up-to-date claim notes in database system with appropriate diaries to allow for proper and timely progression of claim. * Daily review of in-coming mail and faxes (internal and external) with appropriate follow-up action performed timely. * Performs all other job related duties as requested. Required:

    • At least 2 years of property and casualty claims handling experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills. * Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. * Professional appearance and demeanor. * Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. * Proficient knowledge, ability and skills in claims database systems, varied computer systems and applications including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Outlook, Word, and Excel. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. Preferred: * At least 1year of experience in gaming and/or hospitality industry. * Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
