    Position Description

    The Finance Manager works alongside the Chief Operating Officer to lead and provide oversight on our Finances. Overall, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, developing systems to efficiently manage these transactions, and conducting monthly reconciliations and budgeting. Additionally, you will oversee the yearly audit process, ensuring compliance by keeping all state registrations and financial filings up-to-date. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Finance/Accounting (5-10 hours)

      • Maintain records of financial transactions (utilizing Quickbooks)

      • Developing systems to account for financial transactions

      • Conducting monthly budget reconciliations

      • Work with heads of departments to review monthly budget reconciliations

      • Developing annual budgets and cash flows with heads of departments and executive management

      • Maintain records of donors and send donor acknowledgement emails

      • Oversee the yearly audit process with our external auditors

      • Ensure all state registrations and taxes are kept up-to-date

      • Oversee yearly financial filings

    Qualifications

    • Passion and commitment to our mission and values

    • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)

    • Knowledge of basic finance and accounting principles

    • Can work independently and flexibly

    • Willingness to be flexible and jump in when needed

    • Comfortable in a remote work environment

    • Proactive and efficient

    • Process oriented and high attention to detail

    • Proficiency in Accounting Software (QuickBooks)

    • Strong Mathematical and Analytical Skills

    • Ability to Handle Confidential Information

    • Effective Communication Skills

    • Organizational and Time Management Skills
