    Job Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Follow product labels as required by law.
    • Identify, diagnose, and treat turf and ornamental issues as they arise.
    • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides as needed to lawns, shrubs, and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and the rules and requirements of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
    • Prepare and mix products according to label instructions and product specifications, using them in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions.
    • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Calibrate equipment periodically to ensure precise applications.
    • Maintain equipment in clean and good working order.
    • Communicate with managers daily before and after job completion.
    • Complete application records in a timely manner.
    • Work independently or on a team as required.
    • Proactively participate in the procurement and inventory process to ensure materials and tools are on-site for work.
    • Effectively operate operational devices and software (e.g., HotSOS) by communicating professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal communications.
    • Safely use hand tools, electrical and battery-powered tools, and any other pertinent tools required by the job.
    • Follow safety guidelines and practices, recognizing and identifying potential hazards at each property.
    • Work independently with minimal or no supervision or support.
    • Comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
    • Represent CFI professionally through appearance, dress, and behavior, as outlined in the Team Member’s Handbook.
    • Diligently work to gain knowledge and experience to execute the role to its full potential.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Corporate Facilities leadership, including assisting the landscaping team when spray work is completed.

    Education and Experience

    • Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 3-5 years of experience as a spray technician
    • Ability to direct work, train, and provide feedback as needed
    • Proficiency in English communication
    • Ability to read and understand pesticide/fertilizer labels and SDS sheets
    • Ability to lift over 50 lbs, walk for extended periods, work in the heat, and perform other duties associated with the position
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, as long as it is safe
    • Punctual in reporting to work
    • Prior experience with a Z-Spray is a plus

    Language Skills

    • Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership
    • Written and verbal communication in English is expected

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Valid driver’s license
    • Certifications related to fertilizer and pest management (preferred)
    • Pesticide license is required

    Physical Demands

    • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
    • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
