JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for an office assistant for our HR/Payroll department to handle a variety of personnel related administrative duties. You will provide information and clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources activities, policies, processes and procedures and at times assist with payroll processing. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of office support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer all inbound telephone calls
- Develop and implement organized tracking and filing system
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives
- Compile and update employee records
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resource issues, rules and regulations.
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data
- Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
- Order uniforms for employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in office administration or other related field
- Knowledge of HR and/or payroll processing
- Interpersonal skills - the individual must maintain confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi task
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- Dependability - the individual is consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
