Welbilts internship program is designed to expose individuals to all phases of the foodservice equipment value chain and will take place at the Corporate Headquarters in New Port Richey, FL. Through this program you will have the opportunity to: Broaden your real-world business knowledge and experience Receive an inside look at your potential career path Gain exposure to other functions and departments Strengthen professional skills in the areas of design conceptualization, model making, customer interaction, functional requirement specifications, CAD modeling, patent research and design software Share your experiences and present key learnings to a management team Report to Senior member of Engineering team Responsibilities: Work with engineering, marketing and industrial design staff to conceptualize new equipment designs and configurations Generate drawings and renderings of food equipment and kitchen layouts CAD modeling that will be used for presentations, prototype development and fabrication Model making using a variety of materials such as foam-core, cardboard, plastics, wood and sheet metal Documentation support including writing portions of Requirements Documents (MRDs and PRDs), imagery for presentations and proposals General research of foodservice equipment, customers and competitors and trends within the industry Patent research using web-based tools (i.e. USPTO, FreePatents Online, Google Patents, etc.) Job Requirements Program Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts or Industrial Design (e.g. BA, BFA, BID) or pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering (e.g. BS, BSM, BSE) at an accredited school. Must have exceptional conceptualization, drawing and model-making skills Must have completed at least 60 credit hours or Sophomore year of coursework prior to the start of the internship. Ability to conceptualize ideas using hand drawings and sketches Experience working with Adobe Photoshop, 3-D solids modeling (i.e. SolidWorks or Pro Engineer), PowerPoint, XL Spreadsheets Ability to think on the fly and create concepts working with staff (i.e. during brainstorming sessions, or individually) Understanding of basic manufacturing processes (i.e. Sheet metal fabrication, molding, casting) Skill with using powered tools for model making: Basic Level: (i.e. Table saw, Band saw, Drill press, hand tools) Advanced Level: (i.e. Lathe and Milling machine) Strong verbal and written communications skills to communicate ideas and translate visual documentation into written requirements and specifications Valid US Work authorization Submissions: Portfolio of your work is highly preferred: (i.e. Pictures in PowerPoint or Pdf format) To include with submission - please upload/attach to your application along with your resume Examples of models or mechanical things that you made, and why you made it Sketches and drawings illustrating how you think CAD or 3D Solids Models Apply Apply Not ready to Apply?
