Manager on Duty Express
GENERAL STATION OR GATEWAY CARGO SERVICE FUNCTIONS The WFS Express Stations or airport gateways provide customer intermodal cross dock and warehousing services including receiving, sorting, staging, scanning, and dispatching of airfreight, air mail, e-commerce and other cargo at air freight docks and other cargo facilities. Employees engage in sorting and loading activities of shipments less than 50 pounds and occasionally operate motorized vehicles as related to the operation of sorting and staging of cargo from aircraft to truck and truck to aircraft. Employees perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, equipment, and facilities with or without powered equipment and other duties and functions related to the foregoing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of Manager-on-Duty (MOD) includes leading the airport gateways front-line supervisory personnel within the assigned functional area and acting as liaison between first level supervisors and senior management. The MOD proactively monitors the staffing levels and the activity of assigned employees to ensure that customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality and employee relations meet or exceed standards. The MOD participates in the overall Station/ Gateway hiring, training, coaching, counseling, discipline, and termination of associates and ensures compliance with Company rules and standards as well as governmental regulations and customer contractual agreements. The MOD ensures the facility meets budgetary controls and staffing requirements while also ensuring the administration of all policy and management practices are delivered in a fair and equitable manner where all employees, customers, vendors and other third parties are treated with respect. This position may include responsibility for communication between individual customers and the Company. The scope of the job may vary with the size of the operation and its primary line of business.
