    The Role

    We're looking for an experienced Engineering Technician specializing in vehicle systems to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with our engineering teams, who are designing and implementing our driverless technology. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in vehicle wiring, electronics assembly, upfitting, and documentation. Welding and metalworking skills are considered advantageous but not essential.

    What You'll Do:

    • Proficiently install, repair, and modify electrical wiring harnesses and components
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in vehicles, ensuring optimal functionality and safety
    • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic components and systems for vehicle applications.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine electronic systems for integration into vehicles
    • Manage the procurement process for vehicle components, including identifying required parts, obtaining quotes, and placing orders
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely delivery of parts to support project timelines
    • Generate detailed documentation of work performed, including wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting reports
    • Communicate regularly with project teams to provide updates on progress and highlight any issues encountered
    • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks on completed vehicle systems to verify compliance with specifications and standards
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and performance of vehicle systems
    • Perform thermal testing of electronics systems on vehicles to assess performance under various conditions
    • Create testing booths and install thermocouples on critical components for accurate temperature monitoring
    • Run tests, collect data, and present findings to the engineering team in a clear and concise manner

    What You'll Need:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate degree or vocational training in electronics, automotive technology, or a related field preferred
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., IPC-A-610, Certified Electronics Technician) are advantageous
    • Proven experience in vehicle wiring and electronics assembly, preferably in an automotive or related industry
    • Strong understanding of electrical principles and wiring diagrams
    • Proficiency in soldering and other electronic assembly techniques
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience with parts ordering and inventory management systems
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Optional: Welding skills and experience working with metal fabrication tools and
