Security Officer - K9 Patrol K9 Security 11 reviews - Anchorage, AK The selected candidate will be providing K9 team patrol services to rental apartment communities in the Anchorage area. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, and requires a keen eye for security, professional appearance and demeanor, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate would be an Alaska resident with the experience and background needed to successfully execute the assigned work. Job Responsibilities - * Provide courtesy security patrol services to the rental housing communities in Anchorage Alaska. You and your K9 partner will provide a safe and secure home and work environment for the residents and employees of the properties. You will protect property from damage, theft or vandalism. * Vehicle and foot patrol of interior and exterior of properties. * Investigate criminal and non-criminal matters. Refer criminal matters to local law enforcement. Develop good working relationship with local law enforcement. * Provide for the care, boarding, feeding, exercise and continuous training of the assigned canine partner. The selected candidate will receive * A specialized K9 working dog partner, and paid training. Both the handler and the dog will be professionally trained at an out-of-state training facility. All travel expenses and per diem will be covered. * You will be provided with a specially outfitted patrol vehicle. * Uniforms and necessary equipment * Guard related certifications and training fees will be reimbursed * Payment of all canine expenses food, board, vet/medical/medication, training tools, toys, harnesses, etc. * Cellphone reimbursement Required Competencies -

• 3-5 years of experience in the military, law enforcement or security industry. * Emotionally stable with the ability to remain thoughtful and calm under pressure. * Excellent customer relationship skills. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Alaska Security Guard Certification. * Clean driving record. Must possess a current state drivers license and have the ability to safely operate a vehicle; will be required to drive company vehicles to customer sites. * Ability to write effective and concise reports. Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally. * Must be willing to work with and maintain a working dog. Candidate must be able to board and care for their partner dog at the own residence. * This is a full-time, salaried position. Working hours are typically evening and early morning and may include weekends. * Must be physically fit and capable of performing the duties of this position to include, but not limited to running, jumping, lifting up to 80 pounds, climbing and standing for extend periods. * High School Diploma or equivalent required.
