  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for providing advanced customer service and support for all ongoing maintenance and audit transactions in order to support both our internal and external partners. Possess solid knowledge of the products and services under the Property & Casualty suite of products. Works independently to handle more diverse and complex issues while maintaining an advanced understanding of the goals and objectives of the business unit.

    • Exhibits advanced knowledge of the Paychex Insurance Agency portfolio, corresponding systems, internal and external processes to support clients, insurance partners, and internal partners.
    • Mitigates financial risk and exposure for Paychex Insurance Agency, Insurance Carriers, and clients through the timely processing of all insurance carrier transactions, such as endorsements, reinstatements, cancellations, renewal and audits for Workers' Compensation, Commercial auto package, Business Owners' Policies, NYS & NJ Disability and ERISA Bonds.
    • Reviews more complex premium rate, experience modification and class code changes. Facilitates timely updates to each client's internal record.
    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the Paychex payroll service, workers' compensation payment service, and the resulting interaction of this data relative to each client's insurance policy in order to provide client satisfaction and mitigate risk.
    • Facilitates resolution of system discrepancies within HRIS, database and carrier systems. Determines root cause, recommends changes while resolving each issue in order to ensure data integrity.
    • Communicates any policy change to the client in a clear and concise manner by having a complete understanding of Property and Casualty Insurance Law, as well as Paychex systems.
    • Acts as a SME and represents the agency in various project meetings. Regarding system testing and makes applicable recommendations that will create operational efficiencies.
    • Researches and resolves complex product and service issues from internal/external clients. Ability to diffuse difficult client concerns and handle the situation through resolution to support client retention.
    • Maintains and manages positive and professional relationships with Paychex clients, insurance carriers, and internal/external partners by meeting the department expectations.
    • Performs as a mentor to Level II Specialist ensuring all proper procedures are followed.
    • Continues to stay abreast of all changes pertaining to various product offerings, regulatory updates, and insurance industry developments in order to properly service the client.
    • Utilizes multiple internal software applications in conjunction with carrier and bureau websites to respond to all client inquiries.
    • Actively participates in product related projects or training sessions as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • H.S. Diploma - Required
    • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
    • Enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
