    Data Scientist - Intern -Job Details Job Location Oklahoma City - Oklahoma City, OK Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Day Job Category Information Technology Description Position Purpose The Data Science Intern is responsible for assisting the development, data analytics, and infrastructure teams with data science and analysis projects. They will be expected to analyze data for actionable insights by mining, organizing, and analyzing data that offers valuable opportunities to the company. RESPONSIBILITIES The Data Scientist is responsible for: -Assisting multiple teams in data mining processes to collect, clean, organize, and analyze large data sets for different business objectives -Apply machine learning techniques (both supervised and unsupervised) on data sets to develop and train models -Finding innovative ways to combine data sets for valuable insights and trends -Developing custom algorithms and data models to apply to data sets -Using algorithms and programming skills to efficiently work through data -Building automated tools to more efficiently perform tasks -Creating meaningful data visualizations that are easily presented to and understood by colleagues from all business groups -Helping to solve new, complex challenges across the organization Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Experience Required: -M.S. in Data Analytics or similar required -Skilled in manipulating data with tools and languages like R, SQL, Python, SAS, etc. -Understanding of data science principles like machine learning and data mining for advanced data work -Familiar with tools like Tableau or other software for visualization -Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and algorithms -Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Business Objects, D3, or similar -Some knowledge of Big Data/data distribution tools like Hadoop Ecosystem, Hive, Spark, or others PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
