We arecurrently seeking candidates for Help Desk Technician. Candidates for this opening must be located in Fairfax, VA or include a cover letter explaining relocation plans. The Help Desk Technician performs a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks including providing support to Perspecta s employees and independent contractors nationwide. This position performs first-level troubleshooting and resolves less complex problems, and will coordinate with other IT personnel to resolve software, hardware, or telecommunication problems. Performs troubleshooting and resolves issues with PIPS (Personnel Investigations Processing System) application. This position requires shift work and weekend work. Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Provide support for a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks Provide level 1 support for PC operating systems, software applications, peripherals, and communication devices Provide level 1 support for hardware problems Perform trouble shooting and provide support for software applications pertaining to NBIBs PIPS, Portal and FDR and FWS systems Learn and provide level 1 support for any new software or hardware thatPerspectamay adopt Other duties that may be requested by supervisor Communicates with end users to resolve issues a soon as possible Organizes and prioritizes requests to optimize efficient resolutions Other duties as assigned Tasks The job tasks identified below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Qualifications: Requirements: Associates Degree or equivalent IT technical experience New hire orientation 1 to 2 years previous help desk preferred Strong knowledge of MS Office, Windows 2000 and Windows XP Superb customer service skills Excellent problem solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with end users Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects/requests simultaneously U.S. citizenship (required for federal security clearance) Federal Background Investigation REQUIRED please read. The selected candidate for this position must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated government background investigation.This background investigation requires U.S. citizenship and will include an investigation of 10+ years of history including financial, education, employment, medical, residence, and personal records.The cost of this investigation will be paid by Perspecta.
