POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will support the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations, developing and implementing safety programs, and providing daily administrative support, data entry, and record-keeping assistance for the company’s Safety Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required, some college or university credits preferred
- 3-5 years of administrative assistance experience
- Knowledge of JSA, JHA, and AHA processes
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and software tracking systems (Avetta, Veriforce, ISNetworld)
- Strong attention to detail
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well as a team and interact with associates across all remote locations
- OSHA 510 certification preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job description gives an overview of the overall essential functions, competencies, skills, and abilities for the Safety Coordinator role. Other job duties may be assigned that are not included in the job description.
- Maintains electronic safety system by creating and revising tracking documents, spreadsheets, and databases on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis
- Maintains software compliance tracking systems including Avetta, Veriforce, ISNetworld, Amazon, and Excel.
- Produces weekly scorecard for safety statistics
- Assists with answering safety questions and requests
- Responds to workplace accidents and prepares incident reports
- Oversees all aspects of safety events including scheduling, registrations, confirmations, reminders, certificates, and ordering of food as needed
- Maintains and updates monthly training calendar for team safety meetings
- Orders PPE as needed
- Represents and promotes our Safety program favorably to internal and external end users
- Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned
