GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:
- Clean, Prep and Make Ready machines for Reconditioning
- Teardown and rebuild a variety of used Tennant Commercial equipment
- Clean and Maintain Facilities and Assets of the Recon Center
- Learn product through Self Study and Hands on experience and Guidance from Shop Supervisor
- Assist in all aspects of the reconditioning process
- Responsible for cleaning incoming machines and preparing the machines for shop work. This includes using hand tools and carefully cleaning the machines with a pressure washer
- Perform cleaning and light repair of returned rental equipment
- Assists in keeping shop area clean and performing minor and routine maintenance-related activities as directed and assigned by Shop Supervisor
- Assists in building maintenance, including keeping shop area clean and performing minor and routine maintenance-related activities as directed and assigned
- Assist with other Recon Center duties as needed and as assigned by Shop Supervisor
- Study and complete company service training programs offered and Self-Study to obtain necessary skills
- Satisfy, in a timely and complete fashion, required service-related documentation: timesheets, repair orders, machine checklists, receiving records expense reports, inventory control forms and any other service related documents
- Must comply with all service department and company procedures, policies and programs
- Responsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting for all Tennant Company property. This includes all tools and equipment
- Consistently present professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment
- Punctuality is a must for this position and individual should have reliable means of transportation to and from work
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Valid driver's license plus meet Tennant Company driving policy requirements
- AND
- Three to six months of experience performing mechanical or electrical repairs (mobile equipment, appliances, office equipment, electronics, rental equipment, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Entry level mechanical aptitude and interest in learning mechanical maintenance and repair
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced setting
- Good communication skills
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Ability to understand and fill out service-related documents and paperwork
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and service shop equipment
- Good organization skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds, with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds. Assistance should be provided for items weighing over 60 pounds
- Position requires sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling
- Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes
- Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:
- Gasoline, diesel, and LP. Antifreeze, grease, lubricants, cleaning fluids/detergents, and solvents. Battery acid and related fumes. Noise to 87 decibels.
