The ideal candidate must be organized, process-driven, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, and able to maintain confidentiality. 3-5 years of previous HR Generalist experience is required with a primary emphasis on recruitment and talent management. DESCRIPTION Essential Functions include: * Responsible for full cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions for assigned business units including: selection, interviewing, presentation of employment offer, partners with outside vendor for pre-employment screenings including background checks and drug testing. * Conducts new hire orientation to ensure seamless on-boarding with new associates; reviews and coordinates new hire paperwork for processing with payroll team. * Develops a consultative role with managers in a variety of areas including communications, associate relations, performance management, resource management, associate development, practice/policy interpretation and application, and other management challenges. * Supports the HR and management team in fostering and maintaining programs that promote a positive working and engaged environment including but not limited to: ?open door communications?, safety, performance management, career achievement recognition, company newsletter, etc. * Takes initiative to identify and anticipate Company and division needs and makes recommendations and offers support for continuous improvement. * Manages employee relations for assigned business units including investigations as needed and recommendations of disciplinary actions * Supports HR team in communicating, administering, and maintaining benefit plan participation such as life, health, disability insurances, retirement plans, paid/unpaid leave, etc. Actively participates in the open enrollment process including presenting benefits information to associates within assigned business units. * Manages Worker?s Compensation process for assigned business units. Assists in the administration of Company?s compliance with Federal OSHA and State Health and Safety laws and regulations; supports Company?s ?Built on Safety? program. * Supports management with DOT compliance for all commercial drivers; partners with DOT Vendor to administer pre-employment and random drug testing program, certification and recertification, DOT file maintenance, requests for Safety/Alcohol history, etc. * Supports regional HR Business Partner on implementation of succession plan program, training, and development of employees. * Coordinates payroll information for internal payroll team and troubleshoots any payroll discrepancies. * Participate in the development and implementation of HR Department strategic projects and business plans on an annual basis. This position requires: * Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in the Human Resource field * PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required * 3-5 years previous experience in Human Resources in a generalist capacity with an emphasis on recruitment * Previous office experience required * Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills * Intermediate computer skills required * Must possess good interpersonal and problem solving skills * Must be detail-oriented and the able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment * Must be able to manage sensitive and confidential information. * Ability to travel to assigned business units and career fairs as needed * Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
