One of fifteen federally designated U.S. Au Pair Sponsor Agencies. We offer cultural exchange programs for international students and host families throughout Florida and a selection of other areas in the United States.
Au pairs are young people from around the world (usually female) between the age of 18-26 who come to the U.S. on a J-1 visa. They are placed with host families around the U.S. whom they have matched with and they are provided with room and board and a weekly stipend in exchange for up to 45 hours per week of childcare. Although they are providing childcare, and this is an important part of the program, the main purpose of the program is for the au pair to experience life in the U.S. and also for the host family they are living with to experience the au pair's culture. The program is monitored by the U.S. Department of State, so we (as the sponsoring agency) must ensure that the au pair and host family are abiding by the rules outlined by the U.S. State Department. One of the requirements for the au pair is that she attend 6 credit hours at an accredited post secondary school. The au pair program is a 12 month program, and the au pair has the option to stay for an additional 12 months if she wants.
Our agency is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, but our au pair participants are placed with host families throughout the United States. The State Department requires that there is a Local Representative within an hours drive of each au pair.
