    JOB DESCRIPTION

    DATA SCIENTIST INTERN

    Experian is looking for a Data Scientist Intern with programming skills and Applied Machine Learning knowledge to join their Model Development and Deployment Team. In this role you will be contributing to the model development process and primarily consultant with internal subject matter experts. You are required to understand programming and analytical concepts and approaches to solve a variety of business problems. Be ready to challenge yourself with like-minded professionals, to keep Experian on the leading edge of analytic innovation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with like-minded professionals in the implementation of Machine Learning applications and their deployment process.

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of algorithms into production level code.

    • Interpret results of analyses to support business objectives.

    • Support the implementation of production level code and decision tools.

    • Bottom Line - Drive time to market for model scores and attributes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Area of focus toward Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

    • Fundamental development experience in languages such as C/C++, Go, or Python.

    •  Analytical skills to evaluate understand and interpret data.

    • Knowledge of traditional statistical methodology and learning algorithms including but not limited to; Boosted Decision Trees, Logistic Regression, SVM, Gradient Boosting

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing.

    • Understanding of SQL

    • Ability to work in a team setting and communicate sufficiently
