The Payments Analyst works with customer payments, payment application, research, returns and escheatment. This role handles escalations of customer requests related to unapplied and/or misapplied payments.
Utilize various systems and subledgers to research payment application.
Assist with developing solutions to payment problems and testing the accuracy of system enhancements designed to accommodate these solutions.
Develop and document process changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the operation.
What we’re looking for...
You are detail oriented and approach work with a process mindset. You develop transformative solutions to improve functions.
A degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
Understanding and/or working knowledge of Verizon billing and payment systems.
Understanding of payment types (check, ACH, EDI, Credit Card, etc) and the rules for each.
Experience in the payment industry.
Competent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products and financial system programs.
Possess the ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods.
Possess strong positive interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently or in a group, functioning in a multi-task and fast-paced environment.
