We are the core of how VZ runs, supporting the corporate lines of business such as Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Commercials Billing / Settlements and Global Real Estate.
What you’ll be doing...
The ideal candidate is a thought leader, a consensus builder, and an integrator of people and processes with sound knowledge of IT project / portfolio management practices. She or he will work closely with the AD Portfolio Strategy to standardize portfolio prioritization process for IT investment across the enterprise
In this role, you will rely on your quantitative, qualitative, executive leadership, and innovative thinking skills to develop strategic recommendations that drive growth and profitability for Verizon Corporate Systems Group (CSG). You will provide valuable insights on optimal spending, strategic investments, performance health & risk management, all geared towards supporting our product & platform teams with achieving OKRs and maximizing value realization
Developing a comprehensive understanding of the entire Verizon Corporate System Group’s product portfolio and application landscape
Leading a team of Portfolio Managers in managing the life cycle of investments and initiatives to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives, which includes:
Enabling wing to wing portfolio operations
Managing portfolio risks and inter portfolio dependencies.
Budget modeling, 3-Way Match / Balancing budget against Workforce Plan , SOW 1-n & Finance thresholds
Managing business case WBS creation, Business case + DP Expense( Supported by India)
Managing Idea submission process support and Clear governance with KPIs
Offering continuous improvement guidance to Portfolio owners; optimization recommendations, feedback loops etc
Ensuring Budgeting alignment , modeling and tracking spend
Collaborating with other CIO teams to build out a xCIO GTS roadmap / demand view
Leading the Vendor Management Office for CSG to include
Managing working relationships with key vendor contacts to ensure transparency and integrity of the reporting and approval of the deliverables.
Overseeing vendor intake and payment
Executing on vendor contracting needs for CSG
Providing Analytical insights for portfolio enablement to maximize efficiency
Researching and applying critical thinking to industry trends, competitor dynamics and current trends to provide relevant business insights.
Developing effective presentations and narratives.
Participating in scenario planning and “war gaming” workshops.
Collaborating with key stakeholders—business unit executives, Verizon corporate finance and product development teams—to realize the value of strategic initiatives.
Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in business and functional aspects in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, technology consulting, product management, or corporate development.
Experience with Value realization, implementing investment prioritization and benefit realization frameworks.
Experience with building and evaluating technology business cases.
Willingness to travel.
Masters in Business Administration
Background or demonstrated interest in telecom, technology or media industries.
Capability to be a structured thinker with a strong analytical approach.
Possess good research, problem solving, and analytical skills, including excellent PowerPoint and Google Sheets / Excel capabilities, with impeccable analytical and business judgment.
Have excellent quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills; high proficiency in Excel.
Ability to synthesize information quickly and present insights to senior management.
Proven track record of problem identification, solution development, implementation and post-implementation monitoring and support.
Ability to be a team player with experience working both in teams and as an individual contributor.
Possess robust communication skills (long-form writing, Google slides/ PowerPoint and verbal).
Possess highly developed strategic skills and business acumen.
Proficiency with financial accounting and ability to identify insights from financial statements.
Able to be creative, have intellectual curiosity and thrive in a dynamic environment.
