    What you’ll be doing...

By joining Verizon as a leader in the Corporate Communications organization, you will have the opportunity to lead employee engagement for Verizon Business, a $30 billion business focused on delivering solutions and products to power and empower global enterprises, small and medium businesses, and government and public sector customers.

A leader in this role will oversee employee engagement within the Verizon Business Group and lead a team focused on telling action-inspiring stories of how we serve more businesses than any competitor and the unbeatable solutions we bring to our customers daily. Further, this leader will partner with the business unit’s internal functions as well as support organizations such as the Corporate Communications team, Human Resources, etc., to create and execute communications that empower employees, amplify their voices, and ensure they feel valued and connected to the organization’s success.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Partnering with the Corporate Communications Leader for Verizon Business to develop and execute a comprehensive employee engagement strategy that compliments the overall communications approach, driving company priorities, business unit’s goals, and initiatives.

    • Proactively identifying opportunities to deepen employees' pride and sense of belonging - a key ingredient of driving customer experiences through great employee experiences - and empowering employees to act as brand ambassadors and advocate for Verizon as an Employer of Choice.

    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including business unit’s leadership, operational support, and internal partners (Corporate Communications, Human Resources, etc.), to create and deliver segmented and targeted communications to diverse global Verizon Business internal audiences.

    • Partnering with stakeholders on developing end-to-end communications plans for large cross-functional projects, planning and delivering virtual, hybrid, and in-person events.

    • Engage internal stakeholders in creating a fresh, personalized, innovative employee experience by leveraging new technologies and tools to enhance engagement.

    • Use data-driven insights, including pulse surveys and feedback, to monitor and measure the effectiveness of employee engagement initiatives, identify engagement trends and opportunities, and make decisions on how to best optimize how we reach employees with the right message at the right time and through the right platforms.

    • Provide strategic counsel to the executive team, ensuring a consistent and effective leadership message internally.

    • Develop written content to support employee engagement needs, from internal communications for business transformation projects to articles highlighting the Verizon Business brand to employees.

    • Lead a high-performing employee engagement team, fostering a culture of trust, care, and excellence and building the team’s reputation as a strategic advisor in the business.

Most of all, you share our belief that people are our most important investment. You know the value of a great leader—and how inspiring and empowering it can be to work for one. You’re driven to help your internal clients be better leaders and believe in everyone’s potential to grow. You’re a great listener—people naturally approach you for help and advice. And you enjoy partnering with your clients and stakeholders to solve complex problems and, in the process, make us better every day.

    • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship management skills with the ability to manage others, as well as across, up and down an organization.
