We are looking for an experienced professional passionate about the business of aviation. This role will report directly to the AVP - Aviation and will be responsible for managing and overseeing finance, accounts payable and regulatory reporting duties for the Aviation department; contributing to Verizon’s success at a “high” level and helping us to fulfill our mission. Verizon Aviation consists of highly skilled professionals who deliver unparalleled service by maintaining a daily focus on our team, our customers and the services we provide.
As you use your business and leadership experience, you will add your knowledge to our team and:
Working within Verizon Aviation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.
Developing, consolidating and managing the annual Aviation expense and capital budgets for all aircraft and base of operation.
Serving as the primary contact on all issues related to Aviation between various company organizations including:
Finance - financial planning & analysis, budgeting and auditing
Tax - sales & use tax payments and tracking
Legal - contractual obligations
Regulatory - compliance with IRS, SEC, FCC and FAA regulations
Risk Management - insurance coverage and claims
Executive Compensation - imputed income and SEC proxy reporting
Managing accounts payable process including all administrative, flight operations and maintenance expenses by ensuring timely reconciliation and proper account coding.
Supporting Flight Scheduling and Operations by reviewing flight log activity to ensure Travel Policy compliance and by preparing monthly/quarterly executive usage reports.
Accumulating and analyzing aircraft and drone utilization data.
Participating as an active member of Verizon’s Drone Use and Compliance (VZDUC) Team.
Maintaining Aviation’s asset list including aircraft, drones and ground service equipment.
Communicating with customers, outside business firms and/or employees in other departments to accomplish job tasks.
Participating as an active member of Verizon Aviation’s leadership team by attending and contributing to all staff and strategy meetings.
This is a Hybrid position based at 14 Airport Road, Morristown, NJ 07960.
You’ll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in data analysis and budgeting.
Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Risk management experience.
Computer proficient and accomplished in Google and Microsoft applications.
Five or more years in aviation or related experience.
Proven ability to connect and establish a rapport with a wide range of people.
Familiarity with IRS, SEC, FCC and FAA regulations.
Ability to be guided in all you do by our core principles of Safety, Integrity, Performance Excellence, Accountability and Social Responsibility.
