What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is actively searching for a Senior Manager of Business Intelligence to create a quantitative discipline around VBG’s Business Markets strategic decisioning. This individual needs to operate at the intersection of insight and strategy - providing both reactive and proactive data-driven insights with a focus on growth, revenue, and efficiency; ultimately driving positive business outcomes and exceptional experiences. As a member of the team, you will create and strengthen the connective tissue between our organization, AI&D, Marketing Sciences, and Operational Analytics.

• Design the measurement programs that serve as a decision catalyst for Verizon’s Business Markets Group.

• Become an expert in measurement systems for all channels that engage with Business Market customers.

• Develop advanced analytical models that help shape geospatial and financial decisioning.

• Evaluate alternative approaches to sales and operations and make recommendations.

• Proficiency with data mining and analysis - ability to distill information into actionable strategic insights from complex data sets

• Ability to take loosely formed requirements and design robust analytical solutions.

• Ensure alignment of metrics and methodology across lines of business within Verizon’s Business Group.

• Lead cross-functional teams to source new data to support performance of strategic projects/decisions.

What we’re looking for...

You are a demonstrated leader who believes data is at the core of every strategic decision made. You display initiative and resourcefulness in achieving goals, but are also comfortable brainstorming and sharing ideas in a team environment. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak effectively to both internal and external stakeholders. You are able to partner across multiple business and technology teams. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quantitative geo spatial / root cause analytics with attention to detail, adaptable to change and tight deadlines, and is focused on quality.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Six or more years experience with Teradata or similar relational database product.

• Advanced data visualization experience within Google G-Suite as well as traditional BI systems.

• Ability to take complex requirements and turn them into simpler solutions

• Strong project management skills.

• Strong passion around data and problem solving.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering.

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field. Ideally, an MBA.

• Experience with advanced analytics via Minitab, Python, or R Studio.

• Balanced the needs of multiple partners.

• Product development or analytics experience in the technology sector.

• Hadoop and Map/Reduce experience.

• Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI).

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $107,000.00 and $198,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
