What you’ll be doing...
As an Engineering Specialist - Application development, this role will develop, test and deliver systems and applications that leverage complex algorithms for new and ongoing customer products.
You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Working closely with the business team, partnering teams, and other IT Cross functional teams to deliver projects on time with greater quality
Working with domain driven system development using Microservices, JAVA Spring, APIs and SQL as per Industry standards.
Performing code reviews for projects to introduce new modular and reusable software components for Services and APIs.
Supporting the development of software for Network service orchestration, provisioning, activation & topology builds.
Supporting the evaluation of security threats for new and existing code utilized for the design and development processes supporting reliable networks.
Working in software development with technologies (DevOps, Cloud, Agile) and providing key strategic insights.
Identifying strategic directions for driving technology transformation through vendor partnerships.
Communicating plans and participating in review meetings; customer-facing participation within the company and with external vendors and resources.
Working on Change Management, including assessment, impact, scheduling and controls.
Supporting definition and adherence to technological best practices to resolve complex business problems.
Reporting on accomplishments, milestone status and potential jeopardy items.
Supporting escalation management from various business stakeholders and delegates to cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
Providing periodic and consistent reviews and feedback for process improvements.
Collaborating with IT Management and Architects to determine Levels of Efforts.
Supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools.
Incorporating quality gate standards to enforce Security and best practices.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Application Design and development, Microservices, Java Spring and SQL/DB Technologies.
Experience in design, configuration, long-term planning, operational support and project management of large telecommunication systems.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Soft Layer, Open Stack, etc.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Knowledge of Agile Development, continuous integration and automation testing.
Experience building and deploying cloud-based applications (Open Stack).
Experience in implementing Distributed application solutions.
Usage of source version control products such as Git.
Experience with Machine Learning technologies and methodologies
Knowledge of software delivery models like microservices, methodologies, and road-maps.
IT Infrastructure experience managing, securing, operating and supporting Networking services with a strong focus on IP networking technologies.
Experience in supporting the creation of technology roadmaps, blueprints and tactical to strategic execution plans.
Experience with outsourced and hosted third-party service providers.
Experience with database architecture and design, with relational and NoSQL.
Expertise with architecture and design of complex telecommunications infrastructure
