    Description:

    Responsible for engineering and design of all macro and small cell site equipment for both new deployment and modification projects in SoCal.

    Specific responsibilities include: planning, engineering, provisioning and implementation of Ericsson equipment. Using a Verizon proprietary software FUZE, perform all equipment ordering through Engineering Orders and Bills of Material, and provide financial management for ordering and receiving. Manage and maintain equipment related dates, equipment inventory for the cell site build plan.

    Required to perform power and HVAC calculations as necessary to properly size equipment based on demand.

    Work closely with equipment vendors to ensure on-time or expedited equipment delivery as needed, stay up-to-date on the latest updates on standard equipment and ensure quality products are received from the vendors.

    The Equipment Engineer will need to keep up with the latest technology and be ready to implement the latest trends in the build plan.

    In the design phase, the Equipment Engineer will work closely with the Budgeting, Finance, Construction, Real Estate, and RF Teams and their vendors to incorporate the latest equipment standards in cell site design and review Construction Drawings for all projects. In the construction phase, the Equipment Engineer will be responsible for ordering equipment for all new macro cell site, work closely with the Construction Engineer to ensure equipment is available when the GC has the site prepped and receive on Purchase Orders when equipment has arrived.

    The Equipment Engineer will work closely with the Equipment Distribution Center to coordinate all equipment receiving, inventory and releases to the GCs.

    Must be self-motivated, self-managed, and have the ability to complete tasks with little supervision.

    Strong Project Management and Communication skills with the ability to work closely with Team members.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or three or more years of work experience.

    • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

    • Experience with financial management related to purchase orders.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • A Bachelors degree.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Must be able to create a working tracker using functions such as VLOOKUP or PivotTable.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite.

    • Knowledge of DC power systems used in the telecommunications environment.

    • Knowledge of cellular network architecture and Ericsson equipment.

    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

    • Demonstrated effective time management skills, ability to work independently and make decisions within the guidelines of company business standards.

    • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.

    If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $134,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
