The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We’re finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. In this role you can have an impact on new business growth opportunities as well as business efficiencies through the development of business case scenarios. Additionally, you will be closely connected to the FP&A planning teams to ensure the business case projections are captured in Verizon’s financial forecasts. Overall, in the position you will be:

• Performing financial analysis and developing business cases to evaluate enterprise-wide decisions.

• Providing financial analysis support and bid recommendations for Rural Broadband Subsidy program.

• Supporting ad hoc analysis for Corp Finance special projects.

• Ensuring business case assumptions are validated by Business units and projected impacts are reviewed and accurately reflected in corporate outlooks, CV & 3 to 5 Year targets, and budget submissions.

• Working as a member of a high performing cross-functional team; strong collaboration and negotiation skills.

• Providing decision support and guidance; support ad-hoc presentation development and executive review; presenting and communicating to all levels of business.

• Partnering with reporting organizations to assist with tracking the success of business cases performed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; proven ability to structure business cases around a high-level strategic vision.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

• Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.

• Demonstrated understanding of broadband space and business drivers, ideally for both mobility and wireline solutions.

• A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).

• Demonstrated in depth understanding of common business and cost drivers and deep-dive analysis.

• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.

• Excellent communication skills and focus on details.

• Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.

• Experience managing large and complex team projects with minimal direct supervision.
