The Main Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist Intern in our Enterprise Delivery Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our team to build AI strategy for the enterprise operations excellence team. Tasks during the 10 weeks will be divided into impacting 2 areas. Developing reporting and analytics for digital operations team, as well as, IDing and developing AI solutions to support digital operations and other teams within EDO. This will give the intern the opportunity to work with AI/ML model creation and refinement to integrate with our quoting and service order provisioning workflows to drive improved, accurate order related predicted dates and an enhanced customer. Other tasks may include:

• Data Analysis
• Research and produce data based on research
• Model creation to identify trends and insights
• AI/ML model creation and refinement
• Develop and write coding that will sit on cloud-based infrastructure
• Drive cost optimization and operations transformation for our service delivery organization

What We Look For in a Candidate

Education Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior, master’s level, or PhD level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2024.
• Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Science, Computer Science, MIS Major, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

Proficiency and understanding of:

• Microsoft Suite - Medium to advance knowledge
• SQL
• Python
• Azure, PowerBI, Kafka, Jupyter Notebooks experience is a plus
• Data Engineering is a plus
• AI technology knowledge or exposure is a plus
• Machine Learning is a plus

Work Setting

• Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Remote- Work From Home
• Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
• Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depends on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:

Min : $25.00/hour

Max : $41.00/hour
