The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Enterprise Operations organization is looking for a GIS Analyst Intern on our Network Implementation team. This team’s focus is centered around Longhaul Fiber Management(FM)and Graphic Interface System Management (GIS). This intern will have the opportunity to assemble, organize, and maintain Lumen GIS and Fiber records in the GIS/FM team. Interns can expect to assist with hands on team projects and individual contributions.

Other tasks will include:

• Responsible for creating, modifying, researching, and maintaining diverse types of drawings, maps, and records using the required workstation and software
• Will interface with other areas of the department, company, and customers to identify and resolve issues
• Reconcile and update records and databases in AutoCAD, 3GIS and/or ArcGIS PRO
• Identify and resolve all drawing related discrepancies using documentation as well as calling the field to gather information
• Work independently to help reach team goals
• Other duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

Education Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising Junior, Senior, or Masters level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2024 – June 2026.
• Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Business, CS, Data Analytics, MIS, Computer Engineering, Engineering, GIS or related

Proficiency and understanding of;

• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
• Experience with fiber management system or GIS systems is a plus

• Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious

Work Setting

• This position is fully remote/ work from home.
• Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)
• US work authorization

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depends on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:

Min : $25.00/hour

Max : $41.00/hour
