What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s Market Insights team is at the forefront of what’s next for Verizon Consumer Group. We identify signals across the consumer sector and translate them into actionable insights that inform future opportunities and strategic choices across VCG as part of the Consumer Group Strategy team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Consultant - Business Intelligence to play a critical role in developing a multi-year industry forecast across our mobile and home segments. This individual will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data from various sources to develop a multi-year forecast while identifying trends, developing insights, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Gathering and analyzing data from internal and external sources, including market research reports, industry publications, competitive analysis, and internal reports and databases.
Developing and maintaining complex forecasting models to project industry trends, competitive forecasts, and market share estimates across mobile and home.
Performing subject matter expertise and ad-hoc analysis, including identifying key market drivers, risks, and opportunities impacting the mobile and home industries.
Preparing insightful presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and finance, to integrate industry forecasts into strategic planning processes.
Supporting the development of board-level presentations and executive presentations.
Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies within the mobile and home industries.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel.
Experience with Data integration.
Statistical and quantitative analysis experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in finance or with financial modeling.
Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or Data Warehouse.
Working Knowledge of Python.
Understanding of KPIs, forecasting methodologies, and tools.
Ability to distill, communicate, and present complex information in an easily digestible format.
A high degree of natural curiosity.
Willingness to use strong judgment to overcome obstacles in fact-finding and analysis.
Willingness to adopt new approaches, ways of thinking, and directions.
A proactive, self-starter, can-do mentality.
A high level of attention to detail.
Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
Comfort working in a large, dynamic, and complex work environment where developing and managing relationships are critical to success.
Familiarity with digital tools for dashboards and automation tools.
