    This Co-op position, which is part of the Verizon Campus Program, will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm. You’ll be front and center, hands-on and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive.The employee will conduct analysis on Verizon's electric vehicle charging program to provide recommendations on strategies going forward. The final outcome will be a recommendation to Verizon on the amount of EVs and EV charging stations that will be required to meet the business needs. It will also include an analysis on where to place charging stations and in what format in order to maximize carbon emission reduction and minimize costs. This project will forge the pathway towards a fully electrified fleet. In 2022, Verizon’s fleet consumed 19.4 million gallons of fuel. Verizon is committed to reduce our fuel consumptions and this project will be the framework for achieving this goal. The employee will conduct Stakeholder mapping, project finance, optimization, operations analysis, supply chain, and business strategy. They will utilize Systems Optimization, System Modeling, Continuous Improvement, and Network Analysis to accomplish their goals.

    In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

    • Gain exposure in key areas such as business analytics, market sizing and forecasting, predictive modeling, customer behavior, inventory management, capacity planning, and data science.

    • You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Current enrollment in a MBA or Master's degree program in Operations or directly related area (i.e. Logistics, Supply Chain, Strategic Management, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent major with an expected completion date between December 2024 and June 2025.

    • This co-op position is limited to students enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management (MIT) who are currently enrolled in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Previous internship or work experience in one or more of the following: Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Analytics & Data Science, or Manufacturing.

    • Experience in analytics, finance and budgeting.

    • Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management and attention to detail.

    • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.

    Where you’ll be working

    In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
