What you’ll be doing...

Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2025.

As part of the Invoice Validation team, this role must be able to manage operational support priorities across multiple projects and tools simultaneously. Meeting organizational goals depending on this person’s ability to analyze problems, design solutions, and implement improvements for Finance based challenges and allow Verizon to deliver on its commitments.

• Supporting the Technical Manager and Director with invoice load and database analysis for Invoice Validation operations and projects.

• Solving complex Digital Finance challenges through creative use of Digital Disruptors such as SQL, Qlik, Looker, Talend, Java, Python, Knime, and Node.js.

• Supporting development and enhancement of our departmental Node.js platform

• Working with Telecom specific Invoice Validation processes: invoice load, EDI mapping, CABS/SECABS format updates.

• Coordinating with vendors for receipt, management and testing associated with invoice receipt. Act as liaison with vendors to solve technical communication issues, missing invoices, invoice format issues, etc.

• Ensuring Invoice Validation systems daily back office operations of invoice receipt, bill file transmission, invoice load, and payment record generation complete timely and accurately. Billing file formats: CABS, SECABS, EDI 8.11. Bill file transmission methods: NDM, SFTP

• Supporting yearly CABS and SECABS industry upgrades mandated by the Order Billing Forum (OBF)

• Providing technical leadership and accountability for SQL procedures ensuring payment processing jobs complete timely and accurately. Validate daily payment transmission/feedback to ERP payment systems (SAP). Drive exception resolution with business and VZ IT.

• Driving resolution of exceptions in back office operations in the business and with VZ IT. Keep management informed of risks/issues as well as make recommendations for improvements and automations.

• Providing technical leadership to ensure full life cycle development phases are followed as necessary to create and modify EDI Maps that enable data loading into Invoice Validation systems. This includes complex coding of mapping rules, application of configuration management policies, providing support for all phases of testing and assisting in management and migration of changes to Production and associated impacts.

• Providing technical leadership and guidance while also conducting systems analysis/design and development to create complex script sets aimed at solving data issues and addressing business questions. This may equate to migrating data from one data base to another, correcting data problems and/or pulling together data based on complex rules adjoining various data points

• Leveraging the team to provide test support for releases that include impacts for Verify Load Processing.

• Providing development support for reporting and automation of key functions supporting daily operations. This includes leveraging numerous technical skills including, PLSQL, Visual Basic, Access, Unix and SFTP Scripting.

• Overseeing daily processing to ensure audit activity compliance while also providing yearly support for maintenance of controls and SOX testing of Invoice Validation systems. Responsible for the development of broad programs or projects in support of organizational strategies; manages implementation of policies and procedures and develops related operational controls for $500M monthly access spend.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2025.

• Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

• Oracle/ SQL/ JSON experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in a finance, business or technical discipline.

• Cross Functional team experience.

• Strong knowledge of POS, Customer Service, and Billing systems.

• Experience with order to bill functions such as: order processing, provisioning, network architecture or billing systems.

• Experience with revenue assurance functions.

• Experience in Agile Methodology, JIRA and Clarity.

• Strong organizational skills or a background in project management.

• Organized, detail oriented individual that can work independently and drive project success.

• Creative problem solving and innovation to drive digital solution analytical, quantitative, and proactive thinking skills.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills tailored to the needs of the audience.

• Strong background in data engineering, auditing, and/or process controls.
