What you’ll be doing...
To provide USSOCOM with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services.
The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
The Network Architect performs Tier four network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD and requires an extensive background in networking technology.
The Network Architect shall comprehensively review existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
This position shall troubleshoot the enterprise voice, video, cloud, and data networks and evaluate the impact of architectural changes on the network.
The Network Architect shall follow designated network standards for the design, installation, and maintenance of LAN, WAN infrastructures, voice and data network systems, and advanced engineering.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)
Triaging malware, LAN, WAN, VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems
Providing troubleshooting of enterprise WAN/MAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluating the effect of architectural changes on the network
Troubleshooting LAN voice and data networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on them.
Assessing business and applications requirements for corporate data and voicenetworks
Planning, designing, and upgrading network installation projects
Establishing and maintaining backup, version-control and malware defense systems
Troubleshooting network architectures and recommending system fixes and enhancements
Making recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operational costs
Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
This position will be worksite based Monday through Friday in Tampa Florida.
What we are looking for...
This position requires a strong background in the design and maintenance of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), as well as an excellent working knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols (e.g.,Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multiprotocol Labeling Switching (MPLS).
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience
Abiity to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance or higher
DoDD 8570-M IAT II AND Credentialed Mobile Device Security Professional
(CMDSP) OR Aruba ClearPass Certification Associate (ACCA)
Cisco Certified Internet work Expert (CCIE) OR Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) certifications required
Experience with network operating systems (e.g., Cisco, Novell and Windows
Server), network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, cabling and other essential
network hardware), and LAN/WAN protocols (e.g., OSPF, B)
Knowledge of iPhone and Samsung handheld devices
Even better if you have:
Master's degree in a technical field
Excellent written and oral communication skills,
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
