As a Senior Network Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for an expert level knowledge in trouble tickets, outage communications, and change management for a dedicated customer environment. As a part of a highly visible team, you are accountable for ensuring high network availability and attainment of service levels. The team operates in a round the clock environment to provide continuous management and support of the network.
Responding and perform Tier 2 triage of network alarms and customer reported issues
Create customer trouble tickets on outages identified via network management systems and tools
In depth troubleshooting knowledge utilizing CLI to restore downed network devices
Diagnose and isolate physical level issues
Testing Telco Local Loop and customer in-house wiring
Test and repair hardware/software/configuration issues in the customer WAN/LAN environment
Coordinate vendor dispatches for repair at customer premise
Proactive Monitoring of networks management tools to identify network anomalies and faults within the network
Managing and communicating network outages in a timely and effective manner to external teams by communicating technical details and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations, vendors, and executive management teams during network events and major outages.
Applying in-depth technical knowledge to help resolve complex issues.
Actively building relationships with Field Engineers and Management.
Partnering with automation teams to analyze current processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
Identifying system constraints and limitations, recommend solutions to enhance overall performance for engineers via automation.
Where you'll be working...
This hybrid role will include work from home as well as days in the office as set by your manager.
You’ll need to have:
Three or more years of work experience
Three or more years of relevant work experience
Three or more years of experience where you're primary responsibility is troubleshooting an enterprise level Layer 2-3 network.
Three or more years of experience in a Network Operations Center environment performing network engineer functions.
Experience with network management tools and solving complex networking problems.
Must be flexible to work in a 7 X 24 environment including on-call.
Must have, or be able to obtain or maintain, a government clearance at the Public Trust level
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in one or more of the following fields: telecommunications, network operations, and/or maintenance.
Knowledge of LTE networks and 1X to 5G technologies.
Knowledge of Cloud and Virtualized solutions.
Experience scripting with Python or equivalent languages.
Knowledge of all major cellular switching, sub-systems, data networks, and power systems.
Working knowledge of basic telephony and network architecture.
Working knowledge of switching fundamentals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes.
