The Verizon Policy, Responsible Business, Legal & Security (PRLS)College Internship Program is a strategic initiative designed to provide professional pathways for talented college students from underserved communities while supporting Verizon’s talent pipeline and diversity initiatives. Through partnerships with All Stars Project and NJ LEEP, this program offers invaluable exposure to the multifaceted corporate world while simultaneously developing the participant’s critical professional acumen.

This program offers interns a holistic understanding of the complex challenges that drive Verizon’s growth, fostering innovative thinking. Interns will engage in a meticulously crafted 10-week curriculum that includes:

• Workshops on resume building, presentation skills, and research.

• Networking events and roundtable discussions with Verizon’s professionals.

• Real-world assignments addressing current issues.

Verizon’s College Internship Program for NJ LEEP Alumni seeks to help the professional development of NJ LEEP and All Stars Project Alumni. This internship will provide exposure to the practice of multiple areas in a corporate setting, and introduce interns to the diverse and complex nature of specific roles at Verizon.

Interns will work in partnership with Verizon’s 1L Summer Law Interns and contribute to meaningful projects in our in-house legal department. You will use your drive and enthusiasm to contribute to and learn about the diverse areas of law covered by our corporate legal department. Interns will also have the opportunity to work with different areas of the Verizon Policy, Responsible Business, Legal & Security (PRLS) organization, including the PRLS worldwide Volunteerism & Pro Bono Program. What you learn will help you grow professionally and personally.

In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

• Research and summarize legal developments and/or case law in practice areas such as Real Estate, Product Development, M&A, Compliance, Labor and Employment, IP, Tax and Privacy.

• Contribute to projects that relate to state and/or federal regulatory issues affecting the communications industry.

• Participate in business, sales and marketing meetings.

• Work with Verizon and law firm partnering attorneys on Pro Bono Program projects and matters.

• Support negotiations with customers and/or vendors by drafting documents such as summaries and contract provisions.

• Review and draft provisions for our technology and software sourcing contracts.

• Produce written work products subject to our confidentiality restrictions.

• Go on field trips to different offices, Verizon retail stores, the technology office, aviation units, and more to learn about different aspects of the law.

You must be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Basking Ridge, NJ.

• Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's program.

• Completed the NJ LEEP/All Stars Project Program.

• Must be 18 years or older.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Interest and intent in pursuing a legal degree.

• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, communications and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated analytical and leadership skills.
