What you'll be doing…
We are looking for a Principal Engineer Architect for the Verizon e-commerce GTS team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customer’s needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will be responsible for developing the application which takes care of the sales flows on verizon.com and MyVerizon App. You will use your expertise to solve complex problems and find unique solutions. Our team is a close-knit and lean organization of high performing individuals focused on creating best-in-class solutions within Verizon dealing with development in the North Star Architecture. Our work spans from enhancing high volume digital sales applications and mobile experiences covering sales transaction flow. The group prides itself on its ability to be quick, agile and innovative. We're looking for a highly motivated individual with skills to work on customer facing Digital Sales systems.
Responsibilities:
Being responsible for end-to-end ownership of the NSA architectural management and SOE, CXP CXP Domain services of customer additions via add-a-line, bring-your-own-device, and new device/plan customers.
Guiding and implementing processes with software development teams to gather requirements and ensure best practices are adhered.
Managing performance testing process and ensure the team is able to come up with quick analysis on the load test result.
Partnering across all platforms in the digital area and ensure all channels have optimal experience and think from OMNI perspective to ensure not downstream adverse code impacts.
Ensuring that our customers have a smooth transition from one sales channel to another (e.g. online vs. retail store) throughout their sales transaction journey.
Managing and prioritizing pipeline of roadmap business requests from IT/Business leadership teams to provide estimates and strategies for North Star application migration and integration.
Generating ideas to transform the way we work to improve the experience for both customers and agents.
Designing and developing digital sales web applications using Java/Spring, and ReactJS technologies.
Designing, implementing, and providing guidance on solutions for application development, security, analytics and performance management.
Remaining aware of major changes happening across enterprises so new opportunities can be discovered and worked upon.
Leading teams in innovation and finding creative ways to help our customers with new solutions.
Anticipating emerging business needs and identifying opportunities leading to the selection and design/development of tools, software platform and infrastructure components.
Conforming to existing industry and Verizon security coding standards adhering to fortify scan and other security tool review requirements.
Conducting code reviews for junior members of the team and perform peer code reviews to make sure code is following standards set forward by the architects.
Overseeing process of automation test scripts run against code to ensure quality delivery.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in web application/solution architecture and Java/J2EE/React JS and HTML5 development with knowledge of mobile ecosystems.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Software development experience with experience on Web/ hybrid / native app development.
Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
Experience in Front end development with JavaScript technologies – JQuery, Angular or other similar JS frameworks.
Experience in creating Microservices, SOA, Web Frameworks.
Experience and working knowledge in Java web based technologies, J2EE, EJB, struts, Jsp, Javascript, Hibernate, Soap Web Services, Rest Web Services, MicroServices, Server Caching.
Experience in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud to create microservices.
Experience using DevOps suite of tools such as Jira, Jenkins, and GIT/Stash.
Experience working with North Star Architecture with React JS, Spring Boot, Microservices.
Strong problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams.
Experience in building and maintaining experiences like preconfigured cart and offline order processing.
Experience in Elasticsearch including indexes, shards, replicas and experience with data ingestion frameworks such as Logstash to efficiently index data into Elasticsearch.
Experience in optimizing application performance including load balancing, caching strategies and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and fast response times.
Experience in E-commerce sales application.
Experienced in Unit testing, load test and automation tools like JUnit, NUnit, Gatling, Selenium, Watir, Sitespeed.
Experience with Eclipse and JUnit tools.
Knowledge of secure coding with OWASP coding practices, Fortify and Blackduck or equivalent security scanning software.
Oral and written communication skills; can present findings concisely and effectively to critical audiences.
Experience with Google drive suite services (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets).
Experience to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Experience to lead work efforts with offshore and onshore resources across different organizations.
Experience with having customer focus.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $124,000.00 and $231,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
