    What you’ll be doing...

    The Network Implementation group under Global Technology Services Network and Unified Communication (GTSNUC) organization is looking for a self-motivated and forward-thinking engineer to support the implementation of the GTSNUC Enterprise Data Center, VPN and Extranet infrastructures. As a senior-level member of the technical staff, you will be interacting with system engineers, operations staff, vendor partners, and business partners to develop evolution strategies to keep the GTSNUC network efficient and relevant to emerging technologies. Proactive implementation and design initiatives, high level communication skills, and development of next-generation solutions are key functions of the Network Implementation team.

    • Collaborating with the planning and design team to develop and implement new VPN technologies, adhering to security best practices and design principles to guarantee secure operations.

    • Implementing complex VPN topology projects.

    • Introducing improvements in existing implementation patterns and architectural design concepts for modern technologies and enterprise-wide security initiatives, including Zero Trust architecture and SASE Model.

    • Partnering with the Design and Planning team to value engineer as well as coordinate seamless project execution.

    • Performing capacity planning analysis of data center and core VPN infrastructure.

    • Providing valuable input to team designs and Implementation.

    • Developing and Implementing new VPN standards.

    • Maintaining complete technical knowledge of Verizon VPN technologies.

    • Poviding project status to the management team.

    • Self-driven control of technical/educational growth.

    • Contributing to a team culture of collaboration and participation.

    What we’re looking for...

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

    • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

    • Experience in data networking experience (LAN/ WAN and Layer 2 / Layer 3) in a service provider network or large enterprise network environment.

    • In-depth experience in Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) such as SD-WAN and SASE/SSE architectures and respective components including CASB, DLP, SWG, FwaaS, VPNaaS

    • Practical experience using Cisco Security Manager (CSM) and Cisco Firewall Management Center (FMC)

    • Strong Layer 2 / Layer 3 network architectural design and engineering experience including strong hands-on experience in configuring BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, VLANs, NAT, ACLs

    • Experience with Palo Alto/Cisco ASA/Firepower VPN equipment is required.

    • Experience configuring Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower as VPN appliances

    • Must be disciplined and responsible to work autonomously in a Hybrid Work From Home/Office setting

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in network engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.

    • Associate/Professional level network certification or higher (CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, etc.)

    • Strong understanding in VPN technologies (Net-to-Net, Net-to-LAN, LAN-to-LAN, Client-to-Net, Point-to-Point IPSEC tunnels)

    • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, protocols, and best practices such as OAuth, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, and multi-factor authentication

    • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform with certification in these technologies desired

    • Understanding of QoS and network security functions (firewalls, VPN, IPS, etc)

    • New technology development and testing experience.

    • Network operational troubleshooting and network monitoring/analysis experience

    • Capability to communicate and manage priorities effectively to meet deliverables.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies with minimal oversight.

    • Proven ability to manage complex multi-organizational projects

    • High motivation, self-starter approach, and demonstrable leadership skills

    • Ability to work independently and effectively under tight time constraints and deliver accurate results

    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to executives on conference calls

    If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $110,000.00 and $205,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
