We’re seeking a strategic thinker and innovation-driven Principal Engineer of Systems Analysis to shape the technological future of customer interactions at Verizon. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation, analyzing competitive landscapes, and architecting the next generation of customer-centric solutions for Verizon Value Organization.
This role offers the exciting opportunity to:
Drive vision of future-forward technology roadmap for customer channels, digital platforms, and core operations within the Verizon Value Organization.
Conduct competitive analysis initiatives to identify emerging trends, benchmark against industry leaders, and uncover opportunities to outpace the competition.
Champion a culture of innovation by researching, evaluating, and advocating for the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, ML, and automation to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with GTS, Customer Channels, and cross-functional stakeholders to align on a North Star architecture vision that delivers world-class customer, employee, and partner experiences.
Translate complex technical concepts into compelling business cases, securing buy-in from senior leadership and driving strategic investment in transformative technologies.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with the Director of Systems Analysis to define and champion a visionary technology roadmap that anticipates future customer needs and market trends.
* Lead the discovery and planning process, translating strategic objectives into actionable milestones and initiatives.
* Conduct in-depth competitive analysis and market research to identify emerging technologies and trends, informing the roadmap with data-driven insights.
* Continuously explore and evaluate emerging technologies (AI, ML, automation, etc.) for their potential to enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and drive business growth.
* Develop and present compelling business cases for the adoption of new technologies, outlining ROI, impact, and implementation strategies.
* Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation within the team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches.
* Contribute to the development of a North Star architecture vision that supports seamless, omnichannel customer experiences across all touchpoints.
* Analyze existing systems and identify areas for improvement, modernization, and integration with emerging technologies.
* Partner with GTS and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on architectural decisions and roadmaps.
* Collaborate with the Director of Systems Analysis on talent management decisions, including hiring, promotions, and professional development.
* Empower fellow team members and colleagues to take ownership, embrace challenges, and continuously develop their skills and expertise.
* Oversee the development and communication of all content developed around innovation and future scope analysis and recommendations.
* Support other Technology Solutions teams on process improvement, measurement of effectiveness, and areas of technology opportunities and new tools to improve their ways of working.
In this role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days (in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in IT or technology, with a focus on customer-facing channels (customer service, sales, digital).
Proven leadership experience in a large, global, and complex technology-driven organization, including experience in a matrix structure.
Track record of successfully driving innovation and leading transformative technology initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master’s degree in Computer Science - especially emerging technology, Business Administration, Human Centered Product Design, or a related field.
Experience working with technologies such as AI, NLM, Machine-Learning.
Experience collaborating with external vendors.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $124,000.00 and $231,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
