This position supports the Technology and Product Development (TPD) organizations as a critical part of the product development lifecycle. You’ll be a key resource within the procurement team ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget. You’ll partner with other areas of the business, like sourcing, budget owners and finance to be sure that all resources and purchases are ready when needed. We’re looking for you to process purchase requisitions & purchase orders and initiate/assist with vendor onboarding to allow the development and technology teams to plan, create and deliver the products Verizon depends on to meet our commitments to revenue and our customers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Managing purchasing requests and verify contracts, scrutinize deliverables, and strategically link all pertinent information with the correct funding source.
Providing direction and recommendations on the correct coding and system selection for the best procurement results.
Investigating all open purchases to determine when Verizon can confirm receipt of the goods and provide guidance to the accounts payable team that the vendor may now be paid.
Analyzing all backup information and selecting the most appropriate evidence to use when completing the subsequent systematic actions.
Continually reviewing and analyzing vendor information/status to identify areas of improvement and provide direction to peer organizations on corrective updates.
Ensuring quality standards and company/project policies are met
Following up with teams to ensure POs are received and invoiced
Establishing relationships, dialogues, and exchange of information with buyers, vendors, peer organizations, and management for the purposes of data collection to better process purchasing responsibilities.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in JIRA ticketing system
Experience in SAP, Ariba and FUZE purchasing systems
Experience with GAAP accounting as it relates to capital and operational expense classifications
Ability to change direction often and effectively
Experience with product development environment
Experience with Verizon vendors
Experience with business/vendor contracts
Two or more years of relevant work experience in the procurement, accounting, financial, or project management fields
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and communication skills
Experience in MS Office and Google suite
Ability to work independently
Work under tight deadlines
Attention to detail
Problem solver
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business related fields

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $66,000.00 and $123,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
