What you’ll be doing…
The primary responsibility of this role is to take the data related to a customer request and key that data into various quoting systems. This role is responsible to ensure that all services are quoted against all addresses provided in its entirety. The quoter will need to ensure the accuracy of the output against the originating data requirements prior to sending the output quote to sales for customer presentation. This role may also be responsible for filling out a customer facing spreadsheet with the pricing information obtained from our systems.
As a secondary responsibility in this position, the Quoting Deal Strategist would have ownership of custom programs throughout a deal lifecycle (Deal Readiness) up and until order submission (Implementation Assurance). This role will lead discussions around on-boarding efficiencies, strategies, and quoting all while documenting and communicating updates to various teams. You must be motivated to gain a deep understanding of the end to end process flow of a deal and associated processes required to drive a customer solution to operational readiness upon contract signature, and execute the orders according to a structured project plan.
This role will transform the way we manage and win new business by:
Managing the deal risks and quotes throughout the deal lifecycle
Aligning key stakeholders to timelines and challenges
Managing and reporting on deal progress, program readiness and order submission status
Following guidelines on implementing the overall deal strategy, as it relates to order submission operability
Responsibilities will include:
Developing in-depth knowledge of all products, systems, contracting and ordering flows
Building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple business units needed to ensure deals are operationally supportable before contract signature
Leading various deal calls, defining and managing the quoting and contracting timelines from deal kick off to order submission.
Creating quotes/orders in any system required
Ensuring efficiency and accuracy of all quotes
Tracking progress and report day-to-day activity and status to Sales
Escalating issues that may jeopardize timelines
Proactively monitoring quoting activity
Ensuring all necessary information is gathered to begin quoting and all parties are aligned on the quoting strategy
Supporting and defining quoting and or order strategy for RFPs from round 1 through to BAFO using designated playbooks
Running and owning Deal Readiness Assessments (DRA) on each deal
Engaging on Large/complex GIS deals with Senior Deal Strategists
Ensure any custom solution is operationally supportable upon contract signature
Ensure sales obtains proper approvals from groups such like Tax, Regulatory, Product, Pricing and Contract Management (PCM), Legal, Operations, Planning and Design (OPD),
Manage and meet KPIs for each deal
Escalate any roadblocks that preclude ability to meet stated KPIs or SLAs
Participate in various stakeholder calls related to deal
Lead strategy calls/sessions regarding project timelines raising any concerns
Follow established playbooks and processes used to complete a deal or project
Participate with cross functional teams on deal activities to establish an onboarding pathway for Implementation Assurance execution.
The right person will be able to assess the operational supportability of a deal within our systems and identify areas of risk and work to identify, document and mitigate them prior to contract signature. This position becomes critical to the success factors of establishing a clean ordering process flow to be passed to the ordering team for an outstanding customer experience. This position demands leadership skills, ability to cross functionally collaborate, and possess project and process management skills.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Three or more years of project management experience preferred with review and delivery of complex technology solutions.
Experience in working on cross functional teams, developing and responding to RFPs, interviewing prospective business partners and service providers, performing scope reviews, participating in contracts negotiations, and coordinating field work through successful project completion.
Familiarity of Telecom industry trends, changes and developments
Familiarity of vertical markets, trends, development and/or legal requirements dictating solutioning.
MS Office / GSuite expertise.
Experience in strong customer service focus positions.
Ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
Expertise in quote to order process flow (or willingness to learn)
Expertise in systems like Premisys, ProQuest, Salesforce, Proposal Manager, GCH, GCT, VISE, Contract Viewer, VzB Central, VECRM, CAMEO, VPrice, Eval, EZStatus, VEC.
Understanding of our products and solutions including but not limited to: Internet Services, Private IP, Ethernet solutions, SDWan, VNS, Private Wireless 5G, Wave, VoIP/Voice solutions, Managed Services, Cloud services, Security Services.
Understanding of CPE elements required for a solution including device types, licenses, import/export compliance.
Understanding wireless service capabilities.
Knowledge on networking and system implementation rules.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional communication skills for phone calls, emails.
Excellent organizational, time, project management and prioritization skills.
Creative problem solving skills to ensure timelines are met.
